NASA brings Mars to life with amazing high-res images

We spend most of our time focused on science that aims to extend the human lifespan. Today, we want to take a moment to appreciate true longevity: a Martian landscape formed over millions of years.

 Since landing on Mars in February 2021, NASA's Perseverance rover scoured the Martian landscape for signs of microbial life by analyzing soil samples, taking measurements, and transmitting photos of Jezero crater, a 28-mile-wide depression created by an impact.

The photos, featured in a recent article by New Scientist and visible on NASA's website, offer stunning and vivid views of the Red Planet. The high-fidelity images provide amazing detail and eerie color.

Perseverance's primary mission is to document the Martian landscape and determine whether the planet could have hosted life. The rover has already found a history of water in Jezero, once home to an ancient river. The images are particularly awe-inspiring. They also reinforce the reason why so many members of the Dogelon Mars community aspire to go to Mars.
